This guide identifies the most useful resources for Engineering and Digital design and keeps you up to date with library skills and news for your subject area.

Getting Started using the Library
The best place to start searching for resources for your course is your reading list and LibrarySearch.
Links to digital resources are available from here so may require your Kent Login to access them.
Books and Ebooks
We have a large collection of engineering and digital design books in the library as well as in related topics in arts, computing, mathematics, physics and bioengineering.
As well as using LibrarySearch to find specific titles you may want to browse topics areas on the library shelves. You can use the library map to locate broader subject areas.
The first two letters of a classmark identify the topic within your discipline. You can look for these on end of our shelving to find an area to browse.
TA -Engineering, general NC – Design & illustration
TJ -Mechanical engineering QA -Mathematics & computer science
TK -Electrical engineering QC -Physics

Reference works
We also provide access to a range of online reference works that can be a good place to start on a topic:
- Oxford Reference Online: a large collection of online reference works includes dictionaries for mechanical & electrical engineering and design topics
- Springer Reference – a range of handbooks and reference works on very specific areas of research. Browse or search by keywords or topic area.
