Ms., in one volume, unbound. Title from t.p. The Surrey Theatre production had the subtitle "The gypsies of Tiverton Glen." - cf. part of playbill pasted in. According to G.S. Darlow this is an anonymous version of the play. However, the title page is signed "By J. Watkin[?], 20 Anderson Buildings, City Road." A note on the t.p. says "Surrey Theatre, October 21st, 1833, C. Pitt, Prompter," and a cast list for this production, extracted from a playbill, has been pasted in by Arthur Williams. As this cast list includes G.D. Pitt it is possible that he wrote the play, although the ms. is not his holograph. Prompt marks in pencil. Poor condition. Bears the stamp of Arthur Williams.

Stirling's version, 1.1847), and the Gaiety (Charles Dickens Jr's version, 26.12.1873), added by Arthur Williams. Condition poor; pages damaged, and some loose.

Hazlewood and another, very different, version of Act 2 in the hand of G.D. Pitt. Possibly Hazlewood was commissioned to rewrite the play after its first performance. Prompt marks in black ink and blue pencil, plus an illustration of the set, throughout the two acts of the ms. which are in Hazlewood's hand. Stamped "property of Arthur Williams."
