British Theatre 1860-1940:
Autumn Term 2010

Three creative presentations formed a physical exhibition in the Special Collections reading room from 14 December 2010 to 14 January 2011.

The exhibitions were enhanced by corresponding websites, created by each group, on which arguments and findings could be further developed and explained.

Each of the three groups of six students chose different topics to investigate and produced widely diverging and engaging presentations and websites.

Exhibition launch

The exhibition launch took place during the afternoon of 14 December 2010. Each group briefly introduced their work and explained what had inspired their investigation. During the rest of the afternoon, the students discussed their work and their discoveries with the guests.

From the Exhibition Comments book

...a joy to see and hear students describing their projects with so much enthusiasm and interest.

I found [the] commentaries intriguing, insightful and well pitched and the additional material on each website well thought out.

...wonderfully compiled and presented...a most valuable project!

...insightful, entertaining and of a high standard. I particularly enjoyed the costume book...

All three of the individual exhibitions brought something different to think about...
