The printing service is now restored across the campuses.
Microsoft have released a fix for the issue and our technical experts have worked quickly to test and restore the service.

Emergency printing service – Templeman Library, IT & Library Support Desk, C | 1

From tomorrow Tues 06 July at 09.00,  we are providing an emergency print service in the Templeman Library at the IT & Library Support Desk on C |1, while campus-wide printing is unavailable on the Canterbury and Medway campuses.

Please ask for assistance at the IT & Library Support Desk.

  • There are two printers available, linked to student PCs
  • Black and white / colour A4 and A3 available
  • Please wipe down the keyboard and printer before use
  • This service is available from 09:00-18:00 Mon – Friday, 12:00-18:00 Saturday

Please ensure you have your KentOne Card to enter the library and you will need to wear a face covering (unless exempt).

Emergency printing is also available through the Design and Print Centre. Canterbury campus, during this time.

The University is following a security recommendation from Microsoft to temporarily disable the service in order to prevent any risk of access by those of malicious intent. Microsoft are working on a security update that will enable the University to re-instate the printing service. This is a security issue affecting many institutions.

The Design and Print Centre on Canterbury campus can support urgent printing needs, during this time.

Printing from Home?

If you are using a staff laptop / desktop from home and you haven’t been able to use a printer connected directly to your machine, please connect to VPN and leave connected until your printing resumes (can be up to 100 minutes).

Printers will not be available over the weekend on both Canterbury and Medway campuses.
