Why Choose Catalan?
The Catalan language is the means to access a vibrant and rich culture. It is a cultural heritage asset and an element of identity shared by Catalonia and the Balearic Islands. Studying Catalan will help students to gain a deep awareness of Romance languages. As a Latin origin language, the knowledge of Catalan is useful to understand other languages and to see how they relate, like French, Spanish or Italian. Knowledge of Catalan will help you to communicate with a community of 11 million other Catalan speakers. Learning Catalan will also give you an awareness of the importance of minority languages.
