In her role as Lecturer in Careers and Employability for KBS in Medway, Gemma supports students to prepare for their year in industry, internships , experiences of work and graduate roles. Gemma supports students to build skills and attributes, gain confidence and gain vital experience to ensure they have the best opportunities when they leave Kent Business School in such a highly competitive job market.
Gemma joined Kent Business School in 2019, having previously enjoyed working as both an Employability Adviser and a Careers Adviser for a number of years in the University of Kent's central Careers and Employability Service. Gemma uses her knowledge of career guidance theory and techniques to convene employability modules at both undergraduate and postgraduate level. Gemma works in collaboration with a number of key graduate recruiters to provide mentoring, insights and guest lectures for students, as well as providing one to one career guidance and development sessions. Prior to working in Higher Education Gemma has had a varied career. She has run her own Career Guidance Consultancy and has enjoyed roles in the charity and heritage sector.
Gemma teaches Employability modules for all stages at the Medway Campus, including Year In Industry.
