After a successful career in the civil service Margaret Mitchell returned to education and gained a BA Ed (Hons First Class). She is a highly experienced lecturer in both secretarial studies and teacher education and lectured at Mid Kent College and Christchurch Canterbury University. She has extensive expertise in delivering shorthand training both in Teeline and Pitman systems and since 2008 has been teaching shorthand in the Centre for Journalism.
