Planning and Administration

The remit of the Planning and Administration Section is to plan, co-ordinate and support the administrative, planning, finance and quality processes of the department and oversee facilities management. It comprises the following three subsections:


Administer the department’s budget and all aspects of monthly accounting

  • Purchase order and invoice and expenses processing
  • Monitoring of payroll costs
  • Budget reporting, monitoring and planning
  • Agresso and budget management training
  • Year end procedures


Provide a full range of administrative services to the IS department, users of the Templeman Library and the wider University community

  • Support University level committees and the staff of professional service departments
  • PA Services to Director of IS and Assistant Directors
  • Support a range of IS meetings
  • Record, monitor and assist with staff recruitment/manage secure personnel records
  • Support Health and safety procedures
  • Arrange travel and accommodation
  • Sickness and annual leave
  • Timesheet management
  • Refreshments
  • Stationery

Facilities Management

Manage the operation of the Templeman Library, supporting the operation of the Cornwallis building and other locations from which IS offers services

  • Security
  • Report and monitor building repairs
  • Monitor cleaning
  • Postal delivery and distribution
  • Support Health and Safety procedures
  • Staff library Welcome desk during un-serviced hours
  • Furniture, shelving equipment and stock moves
