User feedback mechanisms

IS uses a range of methods to gather user feedback in order to provide responsive and effective services and support.

Surveys

Students and staff are surveyed annually; results are discussed at senior management level and passed to teams who prepare action plans. Reports and action plans are presented to the appropriate user panel and Information Services Committee. Reports and action plans are then published on the IS Surveys web pages.

Study Bedroom Service User Survey

The annual survey of all study bedroom users invites feedback on services provided by the Study Bedroom Service. The issues raised are reported back to the SBS Planning Group. An action plan is prepared. Issues that can be addressed very quickly are fed back to customers by email. The report and action plan are presented to IT Planning Group and then published on the IS Surveys web pages.

Targeted surveys

Information Services carries out a number of ad hoc surveys during the year. Reports and action plans are published on the IS Surveys web pages.

External surveys

The University participates in a number of external survey such as the National Student Survey (NSS) and the International Student Barometer (ISB). The results are discussed by Information Services senior managers and passed to teams who prepare action plans. Reports and action plans are presented to the appropriate user panel and ISC.
