At Kent we consider all applications on their individual merit and welcome students from Bahrain with a wide variety of qualifications and experience. Below you will find standard entry requirements for students from Bahrain. Please note that some departments may have slightly different entry criteria.

If you have any specific queries or questions please do not hesitate to contact us directly at international@kent.ac.uk.

Foundation programme entry requirements

If you have taken the Tawjihiyah you will be considered for Foundation entry. We typically require students to achieve a minimum grade average of 80% to qualify for our foundation programmes.

The University of Kent offers a 1 year International Foundation Programme (IFP) which includes academic study, academic skills development and English language support. If you successfully complete the IFP and meet the progression requirements you will have a guaranteed place on a wide range of our undergraduate degrees across all faculties.

Undergraduate entry requirements

For entry to year 1 of our undergraduate degree programmes, we usually require students from Bahrain to have a High School certificate and to have successfully completed the University of Kent International Foundation Programme (IFP) or a suitable foundation programme at a recognised institution.

The University considers students for undergraduate study who have completed A-levels or International Baccalaureate diplomas or who have US high school diplomas supplemented with APs. We have a standard IB Diploma offer of 34 points overall across all programmes of study including any specific subjects at higher or standard level required by the particular degree programme. As an alternative to achieving 34 points, the University will also make offers for most programmes of study of passing the IB Diploma with specific achievement in higher/standard level subjects.

Offer levels vary depending on the course and some courses may state specific required subjects. 'Maths GCSE' may be required which means that students must achieve high scores in maths.

Students may also gain entry to year 1 of our undergraduate degree programmes if they have successfully completed 1 or 2 years of an undergraduate degree with a cumulative GPA of 3.0/4 (or equivalent).
