A new home for Kent Business School
Kent Business School has moved into The Sibson Building, its new academic home on the Canterbury campus.
Named after the University of Kent’s third Vice-Chancellor, Professor Robin Sibson, the state-of-the-art building with new teaching and learning spaces and modern social and breakout areas will encapsulate KBS’ academic values and identity.
KBS, along with the School of Mathematics, Statistics and Actuarial Sciences, moved into the new building in March 2017, and timetabled lectures and seminars will begin with the new student intake in September.
Royal Society of Biology accreditation for MSc programmes
The Royal Society of Biology has accredited the taught MSc programmes offered by our School of Biosciences:
- MSc Biotechnology and Bioengineering
- MSc Cancer Biology
- MSc Drug Design
- MSc Infectious Diseases
- MSc Reproductive Medicine: Science and Ethics
The Master’s accreditation supplements existing Royal Society of Biology (RSB) accreditation of our undergraduate provision, so that all of our taught Biosciences programmes are now RSB-accredited at either standard, advanced or Master’s level.
At the time of writing, the University of Kent is the only institution with MSc programmes accredited by the Royal Society of Biology. The RSB accreditation scheme identifies courses of particular quality and rigour, and ones that provide the knowledge and skills required by employers in the life sciences sector. For students, this means that they can be confident that our courses meet the needs of employers and can be assured of the educational quality of our provision.
