Pre-sessional English Courses

Our Pre-sessional courses take place before you start your degree at Kent. They focus on developing your English language & study skills so you can meet the level of proficiency needed for your degree.

Dates, Entry Requirements & Fees

We offer a series of pre-sessional courses throughout the academic year. They range from 17 to 4 weeks. All of the courses are available at our Canterbury campus and the six-week course is also taught at our Brussels centre. Which course you take depends on your current level of English and the level required for your future degree.

Tier 4 visa students, please note: your IELTS test must have been taken at a UKVI approved centre and the certificate must bear the UKVI number.

If you plan to study at our Medway campus, please note that your pre-sessional course is likely to take place in Canterbury.

Please note: the start date mentioned in the "Dates" column below is the day you are expected to arrive at your accommodation on campus and the course starts the following day.
