Learn a Language

You don't need to study a specific language programme to learn a language as part of your University course. Students on all programmes can take up to 30 optional credits each year learning a foreign language. Credit-bearing courses are available in Arabic, Mandarin Chinese, Japanese and Russian (delivered by CEWL) and many European languages (delivered by SECL).

In addition, there is a wide range of non-credit bearing and less formal language courses available as part of the "Language Express" programme. Languages offered include Arabic, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Mandarin, Modern Greek, Portuguese, Russian and Spanish at various different levels.
