Reflect, Plan, Develop

RPD Support

To support the comprehensive information provided in these webpages, appraisal (RPD) development activities facilitated by the Learning and Organisational Development team have been designed to help you prepare for your conversations and clarify roles and responsibilities of both the reviewer and reviewee.

Support in understanding and undertaking valuable appraisal, development discussions and giving and receiving feedback for line managers is embedded within our Foundations of Management development programme. We also offer a 3 hour workshop for line managers as part of our modular Management Portfolio as well as sessions in Coaching for Managers.

It is anticipated that, in the main, reviewers will procactively prepare their reviewees for the discussion which will be taking place. This might include ensuring they are aware of the resources available on these web pages but also discussing and agreeing how you will both go about preparing for and holding the appraisal conversation based on the RPD framework.
