Reflect, Plan, Develop

Development activities

We continue to foster a culture within the University in which learning and development is considered to be positive and beneficial use of time and money. The University is committed to ensuring all members of staff are provided with the appropriate development to meet both their individual and the wider school/departmental needs, and which are consistent with the University’s strategic plans. You should discuss and agree any learning and development activities with your manager/reviewer where applicable.

Activities to support your learning and development can come in many forms. If you’d like to discuss any ideas you have for development activities, you can do so with the Learning and Organisational Development team or your designated HR representative

NEW! APPRENTICESHIP LEVY FUNDING - If you are interested in using the new Apprenticeship Levy to facilitate training within your team or for your own personal development, please visit our Apprenticeship website for more information. Apprenticeships are great new opportunity to provide qualifications for staff already working within the organisation in a variety of roles to help upskill, develop and progress individuals.

It is also possible to use the levy fund to bring individuals into roles and 'grow our own' talent within the organisation, by bringing them up through the organisation.
