Membership of SAUL is open to grades 1-6 excluding grade 6 research assistants.
Overview
SAUL is a 'defined benefit' scheme which means that the benefit received is based on earnings and length of membership. Staff join the scheme on a Career Average Revalued Earnings (CARE) basis. Full details of the scheme are available on the SAUL website.
The scheme provides a monthly pension and a tax-free lump sum on retirement and death benefits for families and dependents. A Benefits Guide is available to view here.
The university pensions team, located in Darwin, are available to assist with individual pension queries by email. Please note, the University Pensions Office is not regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority and cannot provide financial advice. Staff may wish to consult an Independent Financial Adviser about the options available to them. Details can be found at unbiased.co.uk
