COVID: right to work checks
On 30 March 2020, the Home Office announced temporary changes to right to work checks, which make them easier to undertake during the coronavirus outbreak.
The temporary changes, acceptable until 30 September 2022, allow checks to be undertaken over a video call with a scanned copy of the documentation.
Conducting a COVID (adjusted) right to work check:
- Obtain a scanned copy or a photo of the original documents;
- Arrange a video call;
- Retain and record check.
