In pursuance of the University’s Internationalisation Policy and the result of greater globalisation of academic pursuit, increasing numbers of instances are arising that propose the engagement of overseas nationals.
Definition of settled workforce/resident candidate: ‘A person who is a national of the European Economic Area or is legally settled in the UK with permission to work here.’
Before carrying out a recruitment campaign, consideration should be given to your candidate pool and if you may attract applicants from outside of the settled workforce. Appointing an overseas national may require the University to sponsor the individual under Tier 2 of the Points-Based System and to do so we and the job must meet strict criteria.
For all recruitment activity the standard University processes should be followed.
