Standards are developed by employer groups known as ‘trailblazers’. More standards will be published as they are developed and approved with the aim of there being 1000 new Apprenticeship Standards available by 2020.
Employers who are being invited to propose and develop new Apprenticeship standards that show what an Apprentice will be doing and the skills they require to do it. The Institute for Apprenticeships publish Apprenticeship standards once they have approved them. The Registered Training Provider then builds the Apprenticeship programme to deliver the standard to Employers which the levy pays 100% for.
