Staff Development Policy

Our Staff Development Policy outlines the University of Kent’s commitment to ensuring staff are able to undertake development opportunities throughout their career at the organisation. The policy supports schools and departments to manage the development of their staff in a way that best meets their specific strategic objectives.

The key elements outlined in the policy are;

  • the responsibilities placed on relevant role holders involved in identifying, approving and administering staff development opportunities
  • where to find relevant developmental support
  • key principles for supporting staff to undertake development (time off for study etc)
  • relevant information regarding the potential requirement for staff to repay funding for accredited training  on leaving the organisation

Fee Remission is available for part-time qualifications provided by University of Kent. Please see finance website https://www.kent.ac.uk/finance-staff/general/staff_study.html.
