Dr Peter Good received his undergraduate degree in Arabic and Middle East Studies with Persian, and an MA in Middle East History, from the Institute of Arabic and Islamic Studies at the University of Exeter.
He completed his PhD in History at the University of Essex and the British Library on an AHRC Combined Doctoral Award Scheme.
Peter’s interests focus on the Early Modern period; Indian Ocean history in general and more specifically the interactions between Asian and European states in commercial and diplomatic contexts.
He is particularly interested in using Arabic and Persian language materials to understand negotiated and written agreements between different Indian Ocean powers.
Peter teaches on Early Modern Europe, the Indian Ocean and the Middle East.
Peter is part of the organising committee of the Symposia Iranica Conference.
