Canterbury Campus

Canterbury Nursing Services

Call 01227 823503 for telephone advice for minor illnesses/injuries and contraception.

This service is located next to Campus Security and Santander Bank on Main Campus. It is available to all students and staff at the Canterbury Campus and is staffed 24 hours a day during term time by registered nurses.

You can go to their confidential appointment-only service for support and advice, treatment of minor illnesses and minor injuries, and contraceptive advice on Mondays to Fridays from 10am to 5pm.

They also have a walk-in service Monday to Friday from 7am to 10am and  5pm to 12am. On weekends their open for walk-ins from 7am to 12am. 

If you have an emergency and need to access the Nursing Services from midnight until 7am, you can do so via campus security.

Campus Security

Campus Security staff are on duty 24 hours a day and 365 days a year and can always be contacted for emergencies at 01227 823333 and non-emergencies at 01227 823300. You can also contact them via the email address security@kent.ac.uk

Student Support and Wellbeing

If you need urgent psychological or disability support during office hours (Monday to Friday 9-5pm) you can call 01227 823158 or email KentSSW@kent.ac.uk ask for an on-the-day appointment. 

University Medical Centre

The University Medical Centre is an NHS general practice based on the Canterbury campus. They provide a full range of contraceptive and sexual health services including STI screening and contraception. 

You can contact them by calling 01227 469333. If it is an out of hours emergency dial 111.

Medway Campus

Medway Nursing Services

Medway students can call Canterbury Nursing Services on 01227 823503 for telephone advice for minor illnesses/injuries and contraception.  

The nearest hospital with A&E services is Medway Maritime Hospital. You should register with a local doctor near to your accommodation in order to receive treatment under the National Health Service (NHS).

The Medway Maritime Hospital is located on Windmill Road in Gillingham. You can contact them by dialing 01634 830000.

Campus Security

Campus Security are located in Medway Building and their staff are on duty 24 hours a day and 365 days a year and can always be contacted for emergencies at 01227 823333 and non-emergencies at 01227 823300. You can also contact them via the email address security@kent.ac.uk
