Here are highlights of the work we've done to enhance the learning resources we provide to help you achieve the best degree result.
Study Hubs and PC rooms
We have provided a new IT Hub in the Park Wood Study Hub, 26 PCs in Park Wood, 5 extra PCs in Turing College and have a refurbishment programme for other hubs.
Campus Wi-Fi coverage
All Kent student bedrooms and campus buildings now have extensive Wi-Fi coverage to help you study wherever you want.
Templeman Library re-development
The Templeman Library has now increased by a third in size and now offers over 400 more study spaces. The library also now provides a 260 seat lecture theatre, Special Collections and Archives Reading Room, exhibition space and a cafe.
Borrowing items from library made easier and fairer
Loan periods have been simplified so most items are seven or three day loans. They will never be due at weekends.
Items you’ve borrowed will be automatically renewed, unless someone else reserves them.
You can now borrow up to 40 items, including journals and multimedia.
Ongoing investment in books and resources
Over £4m* is spent annually on course-specific books, e-books, journals and e-resources. There are over 1m books and journals and over 1.1m e-resources available. Our special collections and archives are being expanded as a rich and relevant aid to study and research. (*17/18 SCONUL).
New and improved Library Search
It is now easier for you to search the library catalogue on your phone.
Laptop borrowing service
You can borrow laptops from both the Templeman Library and the Drill Hall Library.
24/7 library services
Due to popular demand, the Templeman Library is now open 24/7 for all key academic weeks of the year and long hours in the vacation periods. In 2017 the Library was open on 355 days!
