Graduate and Researcher College Prizes
Deadline for 2022 nominations now closed
The Graduate and Researcher College continues to recognise the excellence of its postgraduate researchers and the outstanding work carried out by academic and professional service staff in support of postgraduate research and education, through a series of GRC Prizes (first launched in 2018).
Staff and students are invited to nominate someone (or themselves) for one of the following prizes:
- Director of Graduate Studies/Programme Academic Lead (Division/School/Centre)
- Postgraduate Professional Service Champion
- Postgraduate Researcher
- Postgraduate Teacher
- Research Degree Supervisor
Each of the prizes will be worth £500 which will be transferred to the winner’s school, centre or department for the use of:
- Travel and subsistence in relation to research including conference fees, books, consumables, survey costs or any other cost that can be shown in relation to their research.
- Staff development courses and related travel and subsistence costs.

When completing the online form you will need:
- Name of nominee
- Name of School or Department of nominee
- Email address of nominee and nominator
- Summary:
- Director of Graduate Studies/Programme Academic Lead Prize – summary of nominee’s current responsibilities.
- Postgraduate Professional Service Champion Prize - – summary of nominee’s current responsibilities.
- Postgraduate Teachers – summary of nominee’s current responsibilities.
- Postgraduate Researcher - summary of current research project.
- Research Degree Supervisor – summary of nominee’s current supervisory responsibilities.
- Summary of Exceptional Achievements.
- Statement of Support – if you are a self-nominator, please seek a statement of support from either your Divisions Director of Graduate Studies, Supervisor/Mentor or Line Manager.

Director of Graduate Studies/Programme Academic
Recognising those who go above and beyond working with and for postgraduate students.

Postgraduate Professional Service Champion
Recognising the excellent achievements of administrative staff working in support of postgraduates.

Postgraduate Researcher
This prize recognises the excellence of members of our postgraduate research community.

Postgraduate Teacher
This prize recognises the excellence of a postgraduate researcher who teaches or demonstrates.

Research Degree Supervisor
Recognising those who demonstrate exceptional performance in postgraduate research supervision.
