Canterbury Legal Walk
2017 - TBC
The Canterbury Legal Walk is a 10km sponsored walk around Canterbury and the University of Kent's beautiful Canterbury campus to raise money for the Kent Law Clinic. The events in 2015 and 2016 each raised in excess of £20,000 towards the Kent Law Campaign and we hope that out alumni, students, staff and local legal community will continue to support the work of the Kent Law Clinic at this annual event. It is free to take part and is open to all. Details about the Canterbury Legal Walk 2017 will be released in early 2017.
What are we raising money for?
The Canterbury Legal Walk will raise funds primarily for Kent Law Clinic. With only a small number of legal advice agencies in the area, it is vital that we help keep providing valuable legal services to the community. Access to justice should be equally available to everyone, regardless of their financial situation. This principle is at the cornerstone of the legal justice system in England and Wales. By taking part you will help raise funds to support local people who really need our help.
The Kent Law Clinic is a partnership between students, academics and solicitors and barristers in practice locally. It has two objectives: to provide a public service for local people who need legal advice and representation but cannot afford to pay for it, and to enhance the education of students in the Kent Law School through direct experiences of legal practice.
The University of Kent would like to thank The London Legal Support Trust and The Access to Justice Foundation for helping us make this event possible.
