Welcome and Induction events

Find out more

All new postgraduate students will be invited to attend a welcome and induction event coordinated by the Graduate School following their arrival at Kent. These events are held during induction week in September and at the beginning of the Spring Term. Have a look at our programme of events.

Postgraduate events

Information about all the postgraduate events planned during the academic year will be advertised on our calendar, so keep a close eye on this page. The Graduate School also circulates a weekly news email to all postgraduate students to keep them updated on forthcoming activities, events and opportunities available to them both within the University and nationally. Postgraduate students have the opportunity to bid for funding to coordinate their own events and projects aimed at enhancing the postgraduate experience at Kent through the Graduate School's Postgraduate Experience Awards which is advertised on our website. The annual Postgraduate Festival (normally scheduled to take place in June) provides our students with the opportunity to present their work to a wider audience, network with their peers from across the University and attend academic talks.

The Kent Graduate Student Association represents all postgraduate students across all campuses at the University of Kent.

This body represents students in the areas of welfare, education (both taught and research) and provides extra-curricular opportunities for students through activities, sports and the Union fundraising body (RAG).

Members of the Kent Graduate Student Association work with Kent Union, the Graduate School and the Woolf College Master to make sure that your postgraduate experience is both enjoyable and of a high-quality.
