Franchised courses
Students on franchised courses at Canterbury College and North Kent College study programmes which are taught in the college by college lecturers, but lead to the award of University of Kent qualifications. The University has overall responsibility for the academic level and quality of the courses.
If you are on a franchised course, you will have access to the facilities at your college, but you will also be able to use the facilities at the University's Canterbury and Medway campuses, including the Templeman and Drill Hall libraries, the Careers and Employability Service, the Student Learning Advisory Service and the extensive sports, music and arts facilities at both campuses. You will also receive a KentOne card.
Once you have activated your Kent IT account and enrolled with the University, you need to pay your fees
Validated Plus courses
Students on validated plus courses at Canterbury College study programmes which are taught in college by college lecturers, but lead to the award of University of Kent qualifications. The University has overall responsibility for the academic level and quality of the courses.
If you are on a validated plus course, you will have access to the facilities at your college, but you will also have access to a range of facilities at the University's Canterbury and Medway campuses including the Careers and Employability Service, the Student Learning Advisory Service and the extensive sports, music and arts facilities at both campuses. You will also have access to the Templeman and Drill Hall libraries, but not borrowing rights or access to online resources. Your college will provide you with library and IT facilities. You are eligible to apply for a Kent Associate Student card.
You must pay your fees directly to the college (not to the University).
Validated courses
Students on validated courses at Canterbury College and Ashford College study programmes which are taught in college by college lecturers, but lead to the award of University of Kent qualifications. The University has overall responsibility for the academic level and quality of the courses. Your college is responsible for providing you with all the necessary academic and support services.
You must pay your fees directly to the college (not to the University).
