- Dr Jeremy Scott
Dr Jeremy Scott's teaching and research focuses on creative practice in film, media and literature and on intersections between language and literary studies. He teaches in the areas of film and media practice, stylistics, narratology, creative writing and cognitive approaches to the arts and humanities, particularly cognitive poetics.
Jeremy's current research interests are in stylistics and cognitive approaches to creative writing (prose, film and drama) and narrative technique. He is involved in several on-going Creative Estuary and Arts Council England-funded writing, film and media projects centring on creative heritage, placemaking and discourses of identity. He is particularly interested in supervising research projects on creative practice as research and stylistics-based and cognitive approaches to creativity and creative practice. A new fully revised edition of his book Creative Writing and Stylistics was published in September 2023. Jeremy is currently co-director of the University’s Centre for Creative and Practice Research.
Jeremy teaches modules in stylistics, creative writing and film and media practice.
