Access Control
Access control is used to manage and regulate access to buildings and individual rooms using electronic devices such as readers, locks and remote time clocks. Access control equipment is very versatile and can be integrated with automatic doors, lifts, lockers and turnstiles.
The University is in the process of installing SALTO access control products across its sites. View information on how these locks work and where they are currently located.
KentOne ID cards are automatically programmed with access to the Templeman Library. If you require access to additional areas, please submit a request by emailing the appropriate division or deparment.

New cards
If you require a new ID card, please see the contact details in the table below.

Please note that replacement cards are issued with the same level of access as the original card. You do not need to request access to areas you previously had access to.
Requesting a change to opening times
Please complete this online request form if you would like a building or door to be unlocked outside of normal working hours.
Emergency Operation

Defects
To report a defect with an access control door/component, please contact Estates Customer Services on (01227 8)16666 or log a defect using the online defect reporting system.
Bespoke Operations/Alterations

New Installations
Requests for new access control doors should be submitted via the Rechargeable Works Request system.
