Kent Enterprise and Impact Network (KEIN)
|Event title:||Kent Enterprise and Impact Network (KEIN)|
|Date and time:||Thursday 29th June, 12:00 – 14:00|
|Venue:||Cornwallis NW09 - Canterbury Campus|
KEIN, a network jointly run by Kent Innovation & Enterprise (KIE) and Learning and Development (L&D), brings together staff interested in collaboration. Academics, researchers, technicians and other members of staff can explore innovation and enterprise activities, maximising the impact of their work, and alternative sources of funding, in an informal setting.
Great and inspiring examples of successful enterprise work. I'm glad I attended the session
This session will give information on the subject of enterprise funding. KIE’s Beth Flowers and Chris Nash (Innovation Officers for Funding) will deliver a presentation on the processes around enterprise funding, and Dr Dan Mulvihill Reader in Cell and Molecular Biology/Associate Dean Science Faculty (Research and Innovation), and Dr Ann-Marie Towers Research Fellow in the Personal Social Services Research Unit will speak about their experiences.
All University staff are welcome to attend. To reserve your place at the session, including a free light lunch; please email firstname.lastname@example.org and specify any dietary or access requirements.
If you would like to come along for the presentations only, you are welcome to turn up on the day without booking a place and feel free to bring your lunch with you.
What was good about the event was that it was informal, wide-ranging and friendly! Lots to take back to colleagues
After a networking lunch, there will be two short presentations with Q&A and then an informal discussion. If you have any enterprise ideas or ideas prompted by the presentations, this is also an opportunity to share these and hear about how the University can provide support.
KEIN is an extension of the annual Enterprise and Impact Training Day. This year’s training day took place in April 2017 and saw 13 staff from eight different schools participating. The day covered how to promote yourself and engage partners with your activities and had two academics presenting their enterprise case studies. The day ended with a Q+A session with an external panel made up of an arts consultancy, a hi-tech local business, NIHR and a global, psychological profiling company.
