Tell Me What Hurts

30 August 2018

This is a one-day symposium being held at The University of New England, USA, which explores many stories of healing — from personal to professional to collective — using approaches from the arts, humanities, and health professions.

We hope to encourage robust interdisciplinary conversation among participants and presenters throughout the day. We welcome all members of the community to come for one session or the whole event. The touchstone of this symposium is the work of Martha A. Hall, whose artists’ books are on exhibit in the Ketchum Library Gallery at the University of new England during the Fall semester of 2018. Each panel in some way explores the implications and wider context for her work on the symposium themes.

This event will build on the collaboration between the School of English at the University of Kent and the Maine Women Writers Collection, who co-sponsored “Artists’ Books and the Medical Humanities: An Interdisciplinary Symposium and Workshop”  in April 2016, the full programme for which can be found here.

Tell Me What Hurts will be held on September 13th at the Biddeford Campus of the University of New England in Biddeford, Maine, USA.  Attendance is free, but registration is required via the Maine Women Writers Collection webpage.
