Charlie is a Reader in Applied Sport Science at St Mary's University in Twickenham, and is known for his work with elite distance runners.  He has a PhD from Brunel University on aspects of acclimatisation to moderate altitude in athletes and has trialled acclimation protocols for a number of GB teams preparing for summer and winter Olympic games.  He is an active researcher and has a number of publications in the areas of altitude and hypoxic training, sleep quality in athletes and the use of compression garments as a recovery tool.  Charlie was a lead physiologist in the London region of the English Institute of Sport, and subsequently set up The St Mary's Clinic at St Mary's University which also hosts the London Marathon supported Endurance Performance and Coaching Centre.  He is also Lead Physiologist at Orreco which provides biomarker analytics services to elite athletes around the world. back to top
