Global Radio

"Global Radio is home to some of the UK's best-loved radio stations such as Heart,Capital and Classic FM, to name a few, we keep 23.1 million listeners tuned in and entertained each week.

And that's just for starters; we also manage some of the best musical talent around, publish some of the biggest tracks in the charts, and run two of the freshest music TV channels there are.

Simply put, we're obsessed with radio, music and entertainment and we would like to welcome you to join us at one of our flagship regional stations, Heart Kent in Whitstable, to experience what it takes to become part of our group."

Rewards 2017-18

Global will be offering one student a 1-week work experience placement, covering the different departments within this successful commercial radio station. The student will gain an understanding of how the station functions through working on a range of live projects.

Case Study 2014-15

In 2014-15, Jayna Rana, Centre of Journalism, won a 2-week work experience placement with This is Global, through the EP Scheme.

During this 2-week period, Jayna received the opportunity to see how a successful radio station operates, and given her interest in journalism, the reward was tailored to allow her to see how news is gathered and produced for radio.

Managing Director, Emma Liddiard, commented:

"We really enjoyed having Jayna with us. Having identified that she was interested in journalism, we gave her lots of experience in the news department and she worked closely with Zora Suleman who was able to work with her on both Kent news and national stories. We even sent her out as our reporter to a great evening do at Dreamland – tough job!"

"As a journalism graduate, my time at This is Global was invaluable. I was able to see how news is gathered and produced for radio in a busy and exciting environment. I was also given the opportunity to conduct research, compile questions for high profile interviews and even sit in on the morning breakfast show and watch the presenters live in action - a fantastic experience!"
