Introduction

Pearson College London was established in 2012 with a clear mission – to become the UK’s leading provider of industry-focused university education, enabling students to develop the knowledge, intellectual capacity and professional experience they need for their long-term careers. Pearson College London’s undergraduate, postgraduate and short course programmes are designed to be academically demanding, industry-informed, and to inspire students with a real interest in how their chosen discipline plays a role in the modern professional world. The programmes have been designed in partnership with leading organisations such as Unilever, IBM, Lotus F1, Sony Pictures, Wragge Lawrence Graham & Co, WPP, BT and Cisco and professionals from world renowned studios such as Double Negative, Framestore and Sony Computer Entertainment Europe, ensuring students are equipped with the skills to succeed in industry.

The institution has two schools: Pearson Business School and Escape Studios. Pearson Business School offers programmes in Business, Accounting and Law and Escape Studios delivers courses in VFX, Games and Animation.

Pearson Business School students have participated exciting events such as a hackathon with Direct Line Group, they’ve pitched ideas to senior executives at Salesforce, L’Oreal, and Unilever, taken part in internships with the Financial Times, FOX International Channels and Direct Line Group and entrepreneurial students also travelled to India in 2014 and 2015 to work on a social enterprise project ‘Once Upon a Doug’ to support communities struggling through India’s agrarian crisis.

Escape Studios was founded in 2002 to create world-class, studio-ready talent. Students have their work critiqued by some of the biggest names in the industry and are learn cutting edge techniques in classrooms that emulate real studio environments. The tutors are industry professionals at the top of their game; they know what it takes to work in VFX, games or animation, most have been doing it for over a decade and have worked on titles such as ‘The Dark Knight’, ‘Harry Potter’, ‘Angels and Demons’ and games for multiple PlayStation titles – their CVs don’t get much cooler. Escape alumni (dubbed ‘Escapees’) work in every facet of the VFX, games and animation industries, they’ve worked on everything from ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’, ‘Spectre’, ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ and ‘Dr. Who’ to the latest awe-inspiring commercials, games and music videos.
