One of the most complex challenges and opportunities of our era is the integration of migrants and refugees. Effective integration policies can transform people’s lives for the better. They can enrich countries economically, socially and culturally, generating unprecedented opportunities for development. Even if there is a large existing literature on this topic, some questions remain. My thesis aims to shed light on the determinants of integration of migrants and refugees in the host societies.
