Guillermo started his PhD at the University of Kent in September 2017. Previously he developed his undergraduate studies at Universitat Pompeu Fabra (UPF) and his M.Res at Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB), both in economics.
During the first two chapters of his thesis, Guillermo is focusing on the analysis of consumer behavior based on how their consumption is affected by living in the winning lottery region or not. He is taking the winning regions of the Spanish Christmas Lottery (1st Chapter) and the winning cities for the UK postcode lottery (2nd Chapter) and testing whether the individuals who live in those places increased their consumption expenditures, especially in durable goods, or not.
