Scholarships and methods of payment

Scholarships

Kent’s postgraduate scholarship fund is worth over £8 million and includes scholarships for taught and research programmes as well as subject and location specific funding.

Students can hold either a Graduate School Scholarship or Loyalty Discount. This can be held in conjunction with other awards (excepting those offering full tuition fees and a UK Research Council equivalent maintenance grant).

University of Kent Loyalty Discount

The University of Kent is pleased to recognise the family and personal loyalty shown by registration on multiple degrees by siblings, children of alumni and spouses/civil partners studying together or alumni studying for additional degrees.

A discount of 10% of the first year´s tuition fee will be allowed upon registration.

For further information please refer to Student Finance website.

The Dental scholarship

The Dental Scholarship competition is open to all UK and EU part-time post-graduate students studying a dental care programme at the University of Kent.

This scholarship fund is designed to widen access and participation in Higher Education of NHS employed Dental Care Professionals.

Full details about the dental development scholarships, including the application procedure, can be found on the Scholarship website.

Dental Development scholarship

The Dental Development Scholarships competition is open to all UK, EU and overseas part-time students.

This scholarship fund is designed to support widening access and participation in Higher Education by Dental Care Professionals and will provide a partial scholarship to incoming and current students in the postgraduate dental care programmes at the University of Kent.

Full details about the dental development scholarships, including the application procedure, can be found on the Scholarship website.

Methods of Payment

Fees are charged at the commencement of the academic year or academic stage to cover the necessary modules undertaken. Fees will be invoiced at the standard home/EU student or international student tuition fee rate (as applicable).

Students are welcome to apply for available scholarships or bursary schemes.

Self funding

It is hoped that applicants will receive financial support for the cost of the programme from their employers, however this is not always possible and self-funding students are able to pay their fees via the two methods below:

  • In full – this qualifies for a 2% discount if cleared funds are received in full by approximately 31 August. The discount can be deducted from the payment
  • In two instalments – 50% on or before registration and 50% by approximately 1 December. The instalment plan needs to be set up online at https://epay.kent.ac.uk/epay

For further details about fees and payment methods please read the postgraduate fees and funding page.

Sponsorship by employer

For students who are being sponsored by their employer for the full or partial cost of the programme students are required to:

  • Complete a fee disclaimer form
  • Request a sponsorship letter from their employer
