Erasmus exchange

European exchange

We are committed to welcoming European exchange and other short-term students to Kent.

Kent has been an active participant in the Erasmus+ programme for over 30 years, exchanging over 600 students per year with over 100 European partner institutions. Our current Erasmus project finishes on 31st May 2023 but we will continue to exchange students with our Erasmus partners via new bilateral arrangements.

Kent has exchange agreements with many universities around the world and can make similar arrangements with other reputable universities. If you come to Kent under one of these agreements you are an exchange student and continue to pay your fees to your home university.

European Credit Transfer System

Kent took part in the pilot project for the European Credit Transfer System (ECTS), and the use of ECTS across the University was approved and implemented at the earliest opportunity.

ECTS, was developed by the Commission of the European Communities in order to provide common procedures to guarantee academic recognition of studies abroad. It provides a way of measuring and comparing learning achievements, and transferring them from one institution to another.

My time at Kent was a remarkable experience which will be very useful for my professional development.
