Graduation checklist July 2019

Please find below a generic checklist to assist you with everything you need to before, during and after your graduation ceremony.

Prepare for your day

You must register online to let us know whether you would like to attend your graduation ceremony at the Cathedral OR graduate in absentia OR defer your graduation to the next set of ceremonies.

Ensure your full legal name is correct at point of registration - changes will not be accepted after this date and amendments to legal names upon graduating will not be accepted.
Monday 17 June (17.00 BST)

Fill out a visa letter form if required.
Friday 7 June (17.00 BST)

University debts need to be cleared.
Friday 7 June (16.00 BST)

Order your gown via the Graduate Gowning Company.
Friday 28 June (23.59 BST)

Remind yourself of the timetable for your ceremony.

Arrive in Canterbury/Rochester. Exchange barcoded e-receipt for tickets at Shirley Hall (Canterbury) or the Corn Exchange (Rochester).
At least two hours before your ceremony.

Collect your gown at Shirley Hall (Canterbury) or Corn Exchange (Rochester).
Avoid queues by turning up early.

For photography on the day, please go to Shirley Hall (Canterbury) or the Corn Exchange (Rochester).

For merchandise including jewellery and 'leaver's hoodies', please go to Shirley Hall (Canterbury) or the Corn Exchange (Rochester).
On the day.

Students: register at Chapter House within the Cathedral Precincts (Canterbury) or Corn Exchange (Rochester).
At least one hour before your ceremony.

Guests: begin to line up outside the South West Door of the Cathedral (Canterbury) or the Great West Door (Rochester).
Doors will open roughly one hour before the ceremony.

After the ceremony, please return your gown to Shirley Hall (Canterbury) or Corn Exchange (Rochester).
Please check with the Graduate Gowning Company on the day.
