Celebration ceremony FAQs

Please see below answers to frequently asked questions about graduations and future celebration ceremonies.

Your celebration ceremony

The celebration ceremony will follow the same format as our traditional Congregation ceremony. The only difference is your degree will not be conferred at the ceremony, as this will have been done previously. You will still wear a graduation gown and cap and your name will still be called out as you walk up and shake the Presiding Officer's hand.

Celebration ceremonies will take place in March and May 2022. You will be invited to the correct ceremony for your cohort.

The price of the celebration ceremony will be the same as any of our Congregation ceremonies. The graduation fee is £50.00 and gown hire starts at £43.00.

As long as you register before the deadline and the ceremony capacity has not already been met, then the £50.00 graduation fee means that you can attend your ceremony and bring with you up to two guests.

If there are any tickets remaining for the ceremony once all graduates have registered then we will release any extra tickets at a later date.

It is important to stress that you should not rely on extra ticket availability; we cannot guarantee that extra tickets will be available for your ceremonies.

We will send you an email to let you know if there are any extra tickets, once registration has closed, and if so, how to purchase them.

Graduates are only eligble to attend the celebration ceremony for their cohort. We cannot permit graduates to move their ceremony to a different celebration ceremony. If you cannot attend your celebration ceremony which has been allocated to you, then we cannot provide you with an alternative date.
