On the historic Medway campus, we have a selection of meeting rooms and lecture theatres available. Our facilities within the Chatham Historic Dockyard site include a spacious and unique lecture theatre for up to 300 delegates – the Royal Historic Dockyard Church. Built in 1806, the church was fully refurbished in 2015 and offers state of the art facilities for your conference or performance. We also have a number of smaller meeting rooms situated in the adjacent Sail & Colour Loft, where in 1758, 45 sailmakers were employed to make sails, signals and flags, including those used by Nelson in his ‘England expects…’ message.
On the main Medway campus site we have a number of meeting rooms available including a large open space for exhibitions, which can also seat up to 300 theatre style, a tiered lecture theatre for 175 and a number of smaller breakout rooms seating from 12 to 100.
We offer a wide choice of catering – enjoy breakfast pastries delivered to the meeting room with your morning coffee, or perhaps an ice cream social after your meeting instead of the standard wine reception. Formal or informal dinners can be provided and we have our own Bar/Bistro – Cargo - where you can enjoy live music, watch sporting events or perhaps host bespoke evening of your choice.
During the summer vacation period (mid-June to mid-September) we are able to offer modern en-suite accommodation for up to 750 delegates at Liberty Quays, a short walk away from the main Medway campus.
Our meeting rooms will provide you with a great space to think. We have a wide range of affordable meeting space set within an historic and unique venue.
The University of Kent Campus at Medway is the ideal location if you are looking for an unusual space for large or small groups. Within the local area there are plenty of opportunities for activities and team building events. Our campus and accommodation are within walking distance of the Historic Dockyards which are steeped in history and offer the opportunity to learn about warships, steam, steel and submarines. Why not have a go at making rope in the mile long ropery in the Dockyards, where rigging for HMS Victory was made. Small groups can even enjoy supper and a sleepover on the Royal Navy’s last operational Second World War Destroyer HMS Cavalier.
Medway has excellent public transport links to the centre of London, with the high speed train from St Pancras to Chatham taking just 40 minutes.
