About Clearing

Take control of your future

Am I eligible?

Clearing isn’t just for students who didn’t get the grades they need to go to their first-choice university. You can choose to use Clearing for any reason as long as you're eligible.

You're eligible for Clearing if:

  • you’re applying after 30 June
  • you didn’t receive any offers (or none you wanted to accept)
  • you didn’t meet the conditions of your offers
  • you’ve declined your firm place

You can find out more about the Clearing process and how to apply on UCAS where there are some really useful ‘How to’ guides.

Take a look at our Clearing webinars for more information about Kent and how Clearing works.

Clearing Plus - find your match

If you are in Clearing, UCAS will match you to courses you may be interested in, based on information in your application.

If you’re unplaced or have started a new application, you'll be automatically shown your top 50 course matches. If you’re interested in a course, you just click on it and if the university still has vacancies and you meet the entry requirements, they will get in touch.

If you don’t want to apply for any of the courses you are matched to, you can look for available courses in Clearing using the standard searches.
