Maria is a visiting PhD scholar from the University of Insubria. She will be working with Dr Olena Nizalova until Summer 2020 at CHSS, completing the last chapter of her PhD dissertation. Maria obtained her Master’s Degree in Economics at the Friedrich-Schiller-University of Jena (Germany) in 2016. Maria’s research interests are mainly related to the fields of Health Economics, Labour Economics and Economics of Education.

During her visiting period at the University of Kent, Maria will be investigating whether different domains of educational mismatch might be a trigger for adverse health behaviors, e.g. smoking and drinking patterns, among Russian employees.
