Trips and social events
Check out our faith groups and societies if you like the idea of going on a day trip by coach with a group of friends, or if you want to help organise some of the most enjoyable social events on campus (maybe taking part in prayer, worship, discussions and meetings with visiting speakers). They are of course also a great way to meet more people.
Chaplaincy Events for All
You are welcome to attend our Pizza and DVD nights, to book yourself and your friends onto one of our popular day trips by coach and attend other Chaplaincy social events throughout the year. Buddhist Meditation Group
The Buddhist meditation group is a long-established and friendly group of people from various religious backgrounds, meeting every Wednesday for silent meditation and informal discussion. Students, staff, visitors and residents are all welcome to come as often as they wish, without any charges or obligations, to take the opportunity to refresh the mind and to develop their meditation practice.

Catholic Society
Catholic Society meetings are on Tuesday evenings in term time at 7pm, either live in Eliot College Chapel or by Zoom.

Kent Union Societies
Head to Kent Union to Find a Student Group, simply filter through 'Faith and Belief' for groups such as:
- Christian Union
- Hindu society
- Islamic society
- Jewish society
- Sikh society
- And many smaller Christian groups which attract people from a range of cultures and national identities.
There is also a Faith Network where you can join other students in creating events and campaigns to strengthen your community.
New Life Group
New Life is a cultural and international mix of people. Canterbury is a very international place and this is reflected in the way God has made us a House of prayer for all nations (Mark 11:17). The New Life Group is supported by the New Life Pentecostal Church. There is a warm friendly atmosphere and visitors will feel immediately welcome. We are a Cell Church which means that everyone is encouraged to participate actively!
