IELTS Preparation Courses
The next course begins on Wednesday 17 January 2018.
The first session is a free taster session where you can meet the teacher and ask any questions. This takes place from 18.00-20.00 in Keynes College room KS4
The classes then run on Wednesday evenings between 18.00-20.00 from 24 January to 04 April 2018 in room KS4. The course fee is £200.
- There are no entry requirements
- The fee does not include a textbook.
- Payment is online via our online store.
The course is taught by a tutor experienced in IELTS preparation. The course will help you to develop language and study skills needed. You will get practice in listening, reading, writing and speaking for each aspect of the test as well as familiarisation with the test format (both Academic and General Training). Grammar and vocabulary work will be included as appropriate and you will get useful feedback from the course tutor.back to top

Why Take IELTS?
The IELTS test is widely recognised as proof of English Language skills by educational institutions, employers and government immigration agencies.
The test is composed of a Reading, Writing, Listening and Speaking test. You can choose between two IELTS modules in the Reading and Writing tests: Academic – if you want to study in English at undergraduate or postgraduate level, or seek professional registration.
General Training – if you want to migrate to an English-speaking country (e.g. Australia, Canada, New Zealand, UK), or wish to train or study in English at below degree level.

Terms and Conditions
The deadline for our IELTS Preparation courses is the Wednesday of the second week of the course.
Notification of your withdrawal from our IELTS Preparation courses must be sent by email to email@example.com by Friday 5.00pm of week 2 of the course. Provided we receive notification of your withdrawal by this deadline you will receive a refund, less a £50.00 administration fee.
In order to qualify this promotion, you must have created an account with MyCanterbury and claimed the valid discount code either through the app or the MyCanterbury website. The discount code must then be entered, when prompted, when purchasing the chosen course via our Online Store. The discount code will only be accepted during the date range listed on the MyCanterbury website. Discount codes will not be accepted after this time. Do I need to have a certain level of English or qualification to take the IELTS course?
No. There are no conditions.
Can I take a test to determine my level?
You can try IELTS practice tests.
How can I book a place on the IELTS course?
Book and pay through the “book a course” button on the CEWL webpage. Outside of course registration times you can e-mail us on firstname.lastname@example.org and we will put your name on a shortlist.
How often do you run IELTS preparation courses?
We offer a part-time 12 week course in the September and January (1 2 hour free taster session followed by 11 weeks of 2 hour classes).
Additional course dates may be added according to demand.
All courses are taught at the University of Kent campus in Canterbury.

18:00 - 20:00 on Wednesday evenings in room KS4 in Keynes College
Is IELTS a UKVI recognised Secure English Language Tests (SELT)?

Do I have to be a University of Kent student to take the course?
No. University of Kent students and external applicants are all welcome.
