Why is CEWL offering free English classes?

In June and July CEWL runs an annual teacher training course (Cambridge CELTA). The trainees on this course are preparing to become English language teachers. We need volunteers to join these classes so that our trainee teachers can practise their teaching.

The classes will cover the four skills of Listening, Reading, Writing and Speaking, as well as Grammar, Vocabulary and Pronunciation. There is a strong emphasis on communication and pair/group work. You will have the chance to meet new people and practice your speaking skills.

N.B. The Free English classes are not part of a course. If you wish to join these classes, you will do so as a volunteer not a student. The classes are a great way of learning English language in a relaxed environment and volunteers in the past have enjoyed and benefited from these classes.
