Final Workshop
GCRF OSIRIS

Professor Scaparra will give a demonstration of OR applications within the context of sustainable development and an introduction to the OSIRIS project. The project team will present a review of Vietnam's investment programme for flood mitigation, and partner institutions will present their Socio-Economic and Environmental Impact Assessment, and Rainfall and Flood Simulations. The main results of the project – the Optimization Model and its graphical user interface – will be presented by Dr Trung Hieu Tran from the University of Nottingham and Dr Phouratsamay from the University of Kent. We look forward to the discussion on the outcomes of the project, and the potential of the project's results and methodology to address the ongoing challenges in Vietnam's transport and urban planning sectors, especially in relation to flood management and impact mitigation.
