Have you always wanted to write? This supportive and encouraging course will use a mixture of practical writing exercises and readings to help you face the blank page. All you will need to bring is pen, paper and a willingness to try new things.

Please note: there are limited places due to class size.

Have you been promising yourself that this will be the year you start your book? Or maybe you want to give your writing more time? If so, this writing workshop is for you. Using a mixture of practical writing exercises and through a study of other writers and work, we will look at the best way to start writing our new ideas, try out different writing styles in a safe environment and work out how best to keep going when inspiration may seem lacking and life gets in the way. As well as experimental writing exercises, we will look at the tools of good writing which will help with future editing. This supportive course is suitable for all levels, from beginners to experienced writers, and we will look at both poetry and prose. You will leave with a notebook bursting with new writing and stories to finish, which you may want to take forward in other short writing courses run by the University of Kent's Tonbridge Centre. For those who want, there will be an opportunity to share your work with the class and to help build confidence in your writing. All you will need to bring is pen, paper and a willingness to write.
