pubTALK - Speech, language & communication needs (SLCN) in the criminal justice system
pubTALK

In 2008, the UK government's Bercow Report stated that "Communication is a fundamental human right." But in a current landscape where 60% of young people in youth justice services have communication needs, compared to 5-14% of the general population, what's going wrong?

In this talk, Speech & Language Therapist Cara Drury will explore why this discrepancy exists, what it means for these young people, and what the evidence says we can do to help.
