The first part of this session will build on existing knowledge of the component parts of the budget statement, with the aim of helping you to understand and interpret the monthly reports for budget commentary purposes. This will include guidance on writing the monthly commentary.
The second part of the session will allow for you to apply this knowledge to your own School/Department's latest budget statement, giving you the opportunity to analyse and draft a commentary with the on hand support of members of the FPA liaison team.
Is this course for me? – This is aimed at School and Department Administrators who are responsible for providing budget commentary for their cost centres. The course is not for you if you have never seen or dealt with the detail of the monthly budget statement.
You are welcome to attend any of the sessions on offer but it might be helpful to go to the session specific to your faculty or to the Professional Service Departments as any questions raised may be more pertinent to your area.
Please make a booking via the Learning and Development events calendar at https://www.kent.ac.uk/hr-learninganddevelopment/bookings/courses/index.html
